Phil Greenwood, founder of Sacred Earth, recently shared on his Facebook page an awesome tracking experience he had in the snow on the land on Sunday morning. We thought it would be nice to republish this lovely moment of nature connection here on the website. For more information about the tracking skills Phil uses read this article on intuitive tracking on the 8shields website.
I picked up some really fresh fox tracks this morning during my morning run… could even taste her smell it was so recent. Exercise was put on hold, the trail was on!
Ten minutes later, energy buzzing up my arm, excitement and tension all rolled into one, there she was in front of me, a young female. As you can imagine after a quick glance in my direction she trotted off into the long grass. I followed like a hound with my eyes fixed on the tracks on the ground and my hand feeling the energy she’d left in her wake. Suddenly I came upon older tracks mixed with the new tracks. Within moments I was completely bamboozled as it dawned on me she had criss-crossed and come round behind me. I realised that after I’d followed her into the long grass she’d quickly spent her time laying her tracks in various directions. Her new tracks, seconds old, were interwoven with tracks which were minutes and hours old. She knew I was tracking her and she outfoxed me!
It was at this point I laughed out loud at her beautiful wiliness and decided to carry on with my morning routine. The energy in my hand and arm gave me the sense of the direction that she had finally gone but the day ahead called so the trail was abandoned, at least for now. Thanks little fox for a wonderful teaching.
