We’ve had a very exciting few days. On Monday afternoon we sent out an email newsletter updating our subscribers on the share offer. In response we received a flurry of pledges totalling a whopping £6,000. Thanks to the amazing support of our new members and investors we’ve now reached our initial target of £30,000!
All the team are breathing a big sigh of relief. As you can imagine, there have been some anxious moments during the campaign. We have a great deal of confidence and belief in our management team and our community’s ability to grow Sacred Earth into a beacon agroecology project in the south east, but we have doubted at times during the campaign whether we have managed to communicate this belief to potential new members. It now feels like all our hard work over the last 12 months has been justified.
With seven days still to go before our Crowdfunder campaign deadline there’s still plenty of time to go a long way towards reaching our optimal target of £40,000. Who knows, if pledges continue to come in at anything like the rate we’ve experienced over the last 24 hours, we stand a pretty good chance of hitting that target too!

Progress towards our optimal target of £40,000
A word of explanation about the difference between our “initial” and “optimal” targets is probably appropriate here. In the latter stages of the development of our business plan, just prior to the share offer launch, we decided it would be a good idea to figure out what it would buy medications take to deliver our business plan “on a budget”. We calculated we would need to raise a minimum of £30,000 to deliver it with a few minor changes, so it made sense to set this as our minimum target. However, our ideal amount of community investment is £40,000 – raising this amount means we can potentially deliver our business plan “to the letter”… of course nothing in life ever goes completely to plan, but hopefully you get the point!
So, even though we’ve reached our initial target (the point at which the share offer can be judged a success and we can “draw down” on all the pledges) we still have £10,000 more to raise to hit our optimal target… and we need your help to do it!
